The Website Design Process
The process is designed to be streamlined and simple, to ensure a quick turn around and eliminate confusion.
Step 1.
To decide if we are a good fit to work together, first we’d have a quick, no obligation chat. You get to know me and I learn all about your business, your goals and what you are needing from your website. Then I can provide you with a quote and time estimate for your project.
Step 2.
I plan out how to make your website an effective tool to solve your challenges and drive your business growth. This involves market research, content strategy and planning the look and feel of the website.
Step 3.
I jump into the design software and build a visual prototype that outlines the structure and layout of your website. You will get to see the wireframe and make any requests for changes to ensure the site is going in the right direction.
Step 4.
Taking the website structure outlined in the wireframe, and bringing it to life. Adding in the copy, images, colours, animations and decorations to turn the wireframe into a fully functional website! You will be able to review the site and make any final requests for changes, to ensure you are more than happy with the final product.
Step 5.
I make the website live on the internet for the world to see, and handover the keys to you!
Bonus
Don't worry, after your website is done, I won't disappear on you. For one month after website launch, you will receive a free month of support and updates, to ensure the website launch goes smoothly, and any issues are taken care of.
How do I know if I need a custom website?
If your project involves more pages, more detailed content, or specific features beyond a standard business website, a custom build is usually the better fit. If you’re after something simpler and more streamlined, Website in a Week may be a better option.
How long does a custom website take?
Most custom projects take around 1–2 months, depending on the size and complexity of the website. A more detailed timeline will be provided once the scope of your project is clear.
How much does a custom website cost?
Custom websites are quoted based on your specific requirements, including the number of pages, complexity, and any additional features. After a quick discussion, I’ll provide a clear quote and timeline so you know exactly what to expect. But custom websites usually begin around the $5000 range. If you're after a more affordable option, my Website-in-a-Week service may be best for you.
Can you help with the content and structure of the website?
Yes — I’ll guide you through the structure of your website and help shape the content so it’s clear, professional, and easy for your customers to understand. You don’t need to have everything fully prepared before getting started.
What platform will the website be built on?
Your website will be built using Framer — a modern platform designed for fast, clean, and professional websites. It offers better design flexibility, faster performance, and less ongoing maintenance compared to older or more restrictive platforms.
What happens after the website is live?
You’ll have support after launch, along with simple video guides so you can make updates yourself if needed. The website is secure, fast, and doesn’t require ongoing maintenance or technical management.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes — you’ll be able to make updates yourself, and I’ll provide simple guidance so you know exactly how to do it. If you’d prefer, I can also help with updates when needed.
Do you offer ongoing support or maintenance?
Yes — I can provide ongoing support and updates if needed. However, the website is built in a way that doesn’t require constant maintenance, so you’re not locked into anything long-term.
